Published research in Europe has indicated phosphatidylserine could slow and even reverse the rate of brain cell aging in laboratory animals. Phosphatidylserine restored mental function in older animals to levels exceeding those found in some younger animals. Although studies in humans with Alzheimer’s disease were less dramatic, they still produced significant improvements in cognitive function. In patients with mild dementia, significant cognitive and behavioral enhancing effects were observed. In one study with mildly demented elderly patients, the improvement in neural function continued 30 days after discontinuing phosphatidylserine (PS) therapy. This suggests that relatively low doses or cyclical dosing of PS therapy over an extended period of time in healthy people may produce sustained results. Most studies have used a standardized PS that provides an elemental level of 100 mg taken twice per day.
Brain tissues are especially rich in PS, but aging causes a decline in the PS content of cells throughout the body. Research has shown that in addition to improving neural function, PS enhances energy metabolism in all cells. In the brain, PS helps maintain cell membrane integrity and youthful synaptic plasticity, protecting brain cells against the functional deterioration that occurs as a result of aging. One study indicated 800 mg elemental per day dramatically reduced cortisol (a harmful stress hormone) levels in athletes and improved their immune system.
Other uses are to aid concentration and short term memory loss, stabilization of brain wave patterns in epileptics, mood improvement (especially with the elderly), increase myelin sheath repair, increase release of dopamine, reduced cortisol production with adrenal hyper function, enhancement of nerve growth factor (NGF), increased production of acetylcholine and enhanced brain glucose metabolism.
With adrenal cortical hyper function, Phosphatidylserine should always be used with ADHS, Glucobalance and Flax Seed Oil.
With short term memory loss, Phosphatidylserine should be used with RB-Zyme and Nuclezyme Forte.
One (1) capsule contains: Calories from Fat: 5 Total Fat: 0.5 g Vitamin C: 5 mg Phosphatidylserine: 100 mg
With adrenal glands that are over active (Adrenal Cortical hyperfunction) this product should be used with the products ADHS, GlucoBalance and Flax Seed Oil. With short term memory loss it should be used with RB-Zyme and Nuclezyme Forte.
The best way to test yourself at home to see if the adrenal glands are over active (hyperfunction) is to do a test which measures the hormone Cortisol and DHEA that your adrenal glands produce and thereby monitor the levels to be certain they are or return to normal. Use the StressCheck to monitor the stress hormones of your body and monitor the results of supplements and vitamins to see how your body is responding.

Glands are parts of the body that produce chemical messengers released into the blood stream and thereby have an effect other parts of the body. The adrenal glands produce many types of hormnes effecting your body in very many ways explained in detail in Body Mechanics.
